My relation with the Trinity

My relation with the Trinity

I want to share with you guys about my time with God yesterday. I have this “time with God” usually on Friday mornings (the weekend in middle east falls on Friday and Saturday) and I work on Saturdays so that pretty much leaves me with just Friday morning where I can get the entire morning to myself (after getting up late) and it usually goes in my prayer time and most importantly communicating with God.

I love these times as I get really deep in conversation with God and I can distinctly hear exactly what He says and instructs me step by step. I love these times and I don’t notice time fly that’s probably why I tend to use up pretty much the entire morning. I love the luxury of the time and comfort I get that I usually don’t get the other mornings. The other mornings, I do pray of course, but we don’t have deep meaningful conversations like we have on Fridays. I know God likes it too. I mean for sure He enjoys His child spend time at His feet.

So, speaking of yesterday, I was pondering my relation individually with each entity in the Trinity. I’m gonna share it with you guys here in ‘My Diary‘. After reading maybe you may feel “hey, me too” or you may want to share how your relation is different from mine. I would love to know. If you are interested then keep reading.

The Trinity comprises of the Lord Almighty, Jesus Christ and the The Holy Spirit. I pondered over my relation individually with each of the Entity in the Trinity. This is what I discovered.

With God:

When I think of God the first thing that comes to my mind is His power. How powerful He is. His immense strength and all-possible attribute. His mightiness and glory.

Speaking of physical attributes, now this may be silly, I know no one can see God face to face but I have a picture of Him at the back of my head. In my mind’s eye or according to my imagination of my God I can see Him as a bright white light brighter than the sun, clothed in bright white clothes looking majestic and full  of grace and He has a giant like structure, human form, but giant like. (Please note this is just my imagination, in reality I have felt Him through experiences in my life but never seen Him, like with my eyes, hopefully one day I will)

The very first word to describe Him is love. SO MUCH LOVE.  Love you can’t explain. Love you cant understand. Love that scares you. Love you cant imagine the depth of. Love like nothing you have ever experienced from any human on earth. I have felt it (for real) and as much as I enjoy it, it scares me, because you cant ever imagine something like that on earth.

God is nothing like how our experiences or our situations or any other person describes Him to be . When you get into a relationship with Him, you will know him and feel Him for who He actually is. Just like  a person. But you need to approach Him by first clearing your judgement about Him.

Then another amazing thing about Him is His care. Care that is the result of the His abundant love. No matter who may reject you,  no matter how many faults you may have , no matter whatever wrongs you have done, even if your parents don’t want you God cares. He cares so much, that He forgives you. He cares so much, that He understands you, even when you cant understand yourself or no one around you can understand you. He cares so much that there can be nothing about you, your sins, your faults, your shortcomings, your weakness, your past, things you hate about yourself, things others hate about you, nothing can ever come between His care and love for you.

…..nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord. – Romans 8 : 38-39

He is my father. But unlike my human father my heavenly father owns heaven and earth and nothing at all is ever impossible for Him and as His child whatever He owns is mine as well. He sees me as His rightful heir. Whatever I may need, I just need to ask. But since He is my father and not my genie, somethings I ask He may deny, but that’s just because He cares about me and knows whats best for me.

With Jesus

If you don’t know Jesus then I would like to meet you, to know how its possible to live a life without knowing and feeling His care. Sorry, maybe this is just me but I cant ever imagine a life without Jesus. I feel incomplete without Him, like as if my life has no meaning. Jesus is the first person I run to when I am emotionally down. He is the first person I run to, when I feel ashamed to face God sometimes, about some wrong I may have done. He is the one person who I can always count on and tell my problems without fear of being judged. When I talk to Jesus, I know I can talk whatever I want to, without thinking.

He is the perfect example of sugar and spice and everything nice. In Him I see compassion, mercy, pain and there is this thing about Him that I know that, no matter what, He will be able to relate with whatever it is that I am going through even if no one else does and will be able to comfort me better than anyone else because He himself has walked this earth and knows what its like to be here and feel pain.

If I have to talk about His personality; He is tender-hearted, full of compassion, very very humble and He cant bear to see anyone in pain. His heart melts when He sees tears. The moment He knows you are in trouble He leaves everything and holds you tight in His arms. He comforts you and provides solutions for your problems. He takes up your problems on His shoulders, lessens your load and carries you through safely.

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” – Matthew 11:28-30

He wants you to know He is always welcoming you with open arms as wide as He spread it when He was hung on the cross, sacrificing His life for you and me. That’s how much He cares and loves you. His only question is whether you and I are willing to receive Him and run to Him when life seems burdensome.

With the Holy Spirit

Personally it is only lately I have felt the Spirit’s presence. Earlier I used to think the Spirit’s presence is to be acquired or only elite few can have it. However I have begun to realize that the Spirit dwells in each of us. It is just a matter of noticing the Spirit’s presence; experiences in life that draw you closer to God and makes you familiar with God’s nature, nudges you when something is wrong, and pushes you in the direction you should go is all the Spirit’s work. However the Spirit is more of a silent nature unlike God the Father and Jesus. I do not speak to the Spirit directly, but the Spirit always directs me either to God or to Jesus. He works in me by creating a feeling ,a prompting or maybe a small whisper inside my mind. He too has a personality of His own but its something I’m still learning through personal experiences, something I am still trying to grasp.

For me He is like a teacher, a guide, an instructor, telling me what to do what not to do; helps me distinguish the right from wrong, and above all exposes God’s character and reveals God’s nature and tells me to confide my problems in Jesus in case I get too absorbed with my problems trying to tackle things by myself or feel lost. He is like a constant reminder pointing me in the right direction and notifies me in case I stray from the right path.

…these are the things God has revealed to us by his Spirit. The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God. For who knows a person’s thoughts except their own spirit within them? In the same way no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God. What we have received is not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may understand what God has freely given us. This is what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom but in words taught by the Spirit, explaining spiritual realities with Spirit-taught words. The person without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God but considers them foolishness, and cannot understand them because they are discerned only through the Spirit.  – 1Corinthians 2:10-14

The Trinity

Together they provide me courage, confidence, relieves my pains, fights my battles, blesses me, gives me victory, solves all my problems, guides me. encourages me, comforts me , strengthens me and makes my hard life easier to live and also paves the way to store my riches in heaven.

Cast your burden upon the LORD and He will sustain you; He will never let the righteous be shaken. – Psalms 55:22
